The Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre (ERDEC), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is the university’s one stop resource centre for entrepreneurship. It is located at Level 1 (above Maybank), Student Affair Department building. This centre serves as the university’s research centre that conducts research in the field of entrepreneurship. It also provides the university with the latest updates on research issues that are currently being studied by university academics; public and private institutions within our local vicinity, at the national level and the surrounding regions. This accomplishes the knowledge-sharing goal between this centre and it’s surrounding; and provides the university with the understanding on the diverse and crucial role played by entrepreneurship in developing the nation’s economy. Embedding the entrepreneurial culture is also one of the critical agendas that lead to the establishment of this centre. Various activities were initiated to achieve this objective. Entrepreneurship seminars, workshops, conferences and community engagements are among the major activities that are carried out to serve this purpose with the hope that more people become entrepreneurial-minded. Apart from that, this centre is actively involved in seeking out opportunities to collaborate with various agencies locally and internationally that are into the entrepreneurial research and activities.
