As the technologies grow, people get connected by social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and sometimes video conference. In order to establish the usage of the video conference, the usage of internet access that we subscribed from the network telecommunication provided in Malaysia such as Maxis, Digi, Celcom etc. is needed. In this thesis, the packet loss, latency and throughput of the network were determined by the provided bandwidth while doing the video conference using the different software. The video conference software used in this project are Skype, Google Hangout, and Facebook. To measure the performance of these three metrics, the PingPlotter software is used. Based on the research, we could see that Skype was the best software for video conference since it gave the lowest latency and packet loss within selected regions in Sabah.
