Master of Computer Science by Coursework

We offer Master of Computer Science by Coursework with the following qualifications accredited by MQA:

  • Software Development - MQA/PA 8110
  • Computational Intelligence - MQA/PA 8111

The Master of Computer Science by coursework is designed to prepare graduates with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills required to compete in the rapidly growing field of computer technology. Research highlights software engineers to be among the fastest growing occupations now through 2020. With the positive economic outlook, our local industry has started embracing software applications in an unprecedented aggressive manner. Their consumption of software is fuelling career opportunities as software/web developers, software engineers, database analysts, software implementers and software architects.

Duration of study:

  • Full time (18 months or 3 semesters)
  • Part time (30 months or 5 semesters)

Entry Requirements:

Applicants should possess the following:

1. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR

2. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 may be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

3. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent with CGPA less than 2.50 may be accepted provided that the applicant has at least five (5) years of direct working experience in the ICT industry; OR

4. A Bachelor of Science degree or its equivalent in any field other than Computer Science/Information Technology with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 may be accepted provided that the applicant has taken all prerequisite modules in computing; OR

5. Diploma/STPM or its equivalent provided that the applicant has at least five (5) years of direct working experience in the ICT industry AND passed the APEL T-7 assessment;

  • • Degrees awarded by local/private institutions of higher learning, including those awarded under any collaborative/franchising schemes with local or foreign partners must be accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)

Language Requirement:

  • • To fulfill the general language requirement outlined by the university.
