Dr. Kamal Z. Zamli is a Professor as well as Dean for the Faculty of Computer Systems and Software Engineering, at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). He was the former Dean of Research at UMP. He published almost 200 journals, books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed conference articles. His research areas include t-way Testing, Search-Based Software Engineering, and Optimization Algorithms. He holds several research grants related to Software Testing both from the government and the industry. Among others, he has managed to secure an international research grant from Agilent USA in 2009-2010 and from Long Term National for Science from Saudi Arabia in 2013-2016. Currently, Prof. Dr. Kamal had been appointed as one of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) external evaluator for the Software Engineering program at Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) (2016-2019). On the 18th to 22nd April 2015, Prof. Dr. Kamal visited FCI and reviewed the Software Engineering program as well as provided workshop for his latest research works and general information for certification in Software Testing. During his visit, Prof. Dr. Kamal met with Associate Professor Dr. Ag Asri Ag Ibrahim the Dean of FCI, Mr. Ryan Macdonell Andrias the Deputy Dean of FCI, Dr. Chin Kim On the Head of Programme for Software Engineering, Dr. Mohd Hanafi Ahmad Hijazi the Head of Programme for Network Engineering and other staffs at FCI-KK, Sabah, Malaysia. According to the Dean, this is one of the efforts to improve FCI research collaboration and linkage with the UMP in upcoming future.
