PARTIMOR WEB: A WEB-BASED SYSTEM FOR PART- TIME JOBS

Abstract:

Malaysia is still lacking for part time job platforms that emphasize on the employment of young adult population. Nowadays, the income of young populations which include fresh graduates in Malaysia is very low, so they will try to earn more wages through part time jobs. However, most of them are lacking of an appropriate and efficient platform to seek for a suitable part time job opportunity. Although there are tons of part time job seeker and freelance systems available in the market, but none of it states clearly whether their system are designed for which age group of part timer in Malaysia. Most job search system promote full time works and long-term temporary works which are in project-based or daily pay, where short-term temporary works which its pay is counted in an hour is normally not emphasized. In current market, the existing part time job search systems have limited types of services provided for the people in need of service. Therefore, a platform like the “Partimor Web” which is a web-based system that specially designed for the youth or student who wishes to earn money during the vacation or to seek for a flexible part time job which can easily fit into their packed schedule is desirable. The objectives for this project are to develop a web-based system for people to advertise and to apply for part-time jobs, to create modules and interfaces for user to update and manage data stored in the proposed relational database by using HTML5, CSS and Java Script programming languages and to test and evaluate the developed system for user acceptance. The development methodology uses to implement the Partimor Web is prototyping-based methodology. The Executive Director of Bifrost Tech Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Anthony See is involved in this system development process by giving feedbacks on the prototypes. Software tests including unit, integration, system and user acceptance tests were carried out at different phases of the development to make sure that the system developed work accordingly and in accordance to the user requirements. The system will be hand-over to the Bifrost Tech Sdn. Bhd. for installation and deployment.
