UMS DropBy is an android based mobile application developed to serve as a digital
Bulletin for students in Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Currently, in UMS, there are several medium that are being used to disseminate information among UMS’s students, but most of them are the traditional ones. For example, most information are disseminate through the notices which were stick to the conventional board, wall or distribution of information through banners and flyers. Those medium are expensive and normally are not effective in ensuring the information will be reach to the targeted students. Thus, UMS DropBy is proposed and developed using the Rapid Application Development approach. It has several features where students can get the latest updates on events and activities around the campus. It also serves as a platform where students can advertise their businesses os and also act as a lost and found centre. Based on the evaluation that has been done among the UMS students, it has been found that UMS DropBy is useful and effective towards providing a way to disseminate information among student. This project plays an important role in supporting UMS campaign towards achieving Eco Campus status.
