Joint Conference on Computing and Informatics Science - 2017 (JCCIS’ 17) Co-organized by Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Waseda University, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
On 21-22 July 2017, the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) organized an International Joint Conference on Computing and Informatics Science - 2017 (JCCIS’ 17) in collaboration with Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). The conference was held at UMS' Main Campus at Kota Kinabalu. UMS was led by the Dean of FCI, Associate Professor Dr. Ag. Asri Bin Ag. Ibrahim. The delegation from Waseda University was led by Professor Dr. Takuro Sato, the Director of Global Information and Telecommunication Institute. While UKM was led by Prof Dr Azuraliza Abu Bakar, the Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation (R&I). The primary goals of the joint conference were to further staff and students’ knowledge about the benefits, opportunities of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Topics covered during the conferene were mainly related to R4.0 such as connectivity and analysis of the enterprise value chain, Data Mining and Information Centric Networks.
According to the Dean FCI, this is one of the efforts to enhance academic staff and student exchanges and strengthening educational linkages between FKI-UMS, UKM and Waseda University. He hopes for more research collaboration in the future.
