LoI between FPEP and AIU Japan

JANUARY 14 - Prof. Dr. Yoshitaka Kumagai, Vice President, Akita International University (AIU) Japan visited Faculty of Business, Economics & Accountancy, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The Vice President was accompanied by Dean, Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yoji Natori & Prof. Dr. Amran Hamzah from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Meanwhile, a Letter of Intent (LoI) signing ceremony between Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy(FBEA), UMS and Akita International University(AIU) Japan was held today 14th Jan, 2020. The Dean of FBEA, Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansur represented UMS while Akita International University, Japan was represented by its Vice President, Prof. Dr. Yoshitaka Kumagai. Dean of Faculty of International Liberal Arts,IAU Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yoji Natori, Deputy Dean (Student Affairs & Postgraduate) FBEA, Dr. Arif @ Kamisan Pusiran, Head of Tourism Programme, Dr. Tini Maizura Mohtar, Prof. Dr. Amran Hamzah from UTM, among others, were also present to witness the event. Based on the LoI, UMS and AIU will collaborate in exchange of expertise, research, academician and student activities.

In addition, Faculty of Business, Economics & Accountancy, UMS had jointly organized a Winter School 2020' programme with Akita International University (AIU), Japan. The programme involved 6 students from AIU & 8 students from UMS, all from Tourism Programme, under the supervision of Prof. Yoji Natori. Based on the concept of Project Based Learning, the activities focus on Green Economy. The 10-day programme starts from 15 to 25 January, 2020. The closing ceremony of Akita International University, Japan "Winter School 2020" programme which will be held at MBA Seminar Room. The Dean, Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Md. Mansur will give the closing remarks to all the participants.
