INTRODUCTION

 

Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSMP), formerly known as the Food and Nutrition Science School (SSMP), was established in 1997. To date, FSMP offers four (4) undergraduate programs which are Bachelor in Food Science (Honours) Food Science and Nutrition, Bachelor in Food Science (Honours) Food Technology and Bioprocessing, Bachelor in Food Science (Honours) Food Services and Bachelor in Nutrition. The program will enable students to have a scholarly knowledge in the field of study, which will be able to enter the job market in related industries to produce professionals in the field of food science and technology, nutrition and food services. FSMP also offers postgraduate programs such as master’s degree with coursework and research and Doctor of Philosophy (Research) in various areas of specialization conducted by trained academic staff in their respective fields. FSMP is continuously working to improve research activities by obtaining research grants from various agencies. Research has been proven through the scientific publication of international journals, patents, and awards. Through this effort will be able to assist UMS in gaining international recognition.
