HG09 Food Service
This program enables students to acquire the necessary knowledge in food science and food services. Students have the opportunity to learn basic knowledge of food science such as food preservation, food processing, quality control and food safety, legal and food standards and nutritional functions. In addition, students will also acquire practical theoretical and practical knowledge in food services such as food service, entrepreneurship and food service systems, culinary bases, commercial food preparation, menu development, and layout, design and food service tools. Students are required to undergo industrial training in various food industries in public and private organizations as in food units in health institutions, safety units and food quality at hotels, research institutions or other government agencies. Graduates from this program have the opportunity to work in the food industry especially in health institutions, hospitality and catering industries as well as educational and research institutes.
