ITBC FROG MUSEUM

THE CONCEPT

The concept of ‘ITBC Frog Museum’ at the Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, which was successfully launched on 14th December 2003, is a combination of display of preserved specimens, models, as well as living frog cultures shown in an interactive manner to educate the public on the diversity, importance and conservation of frogs. ‘ITBC Frog Museum’ is part of the effort of ITBC to popularize biodiversity.


The aim of ‘ITBC Frog Museum’ is to make aware and educate the Malaysian public on the diversity of frogs and its importance. The threats on the survival of frogs are also exposed to inspire the public to love and participate in the conservation of frogs.


The target audience of the frog museum include children to adults, non - scientists to herpetologists, as well as local to international audience.
