research in 1995 with the establishment
of the Borneo Marine Research Unit. The Unit had developed
by leaps and bounds in subsequent years, and was upgraded
to the status of a full-fledged Borneo Marine Research

Borneo Marine Research Institute (BMRI)
was established in June 2000 from it's inception as a research unit
in 1995. BMRI envisions to
promote research, development and commercialisation in the area
of aquaculture and marine science in Malaysia.
