ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts not exceeding 250 words should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file via e-mail to Dr. Yukinori Mukai (mukai@ums.edu.my) and Mr. Syuhaime A. Ali (syuhaime@ums.edu.my) latest by 05 February 2008. All submitted abstracts will be evaluated for presentation and publication in the Book of Abstracts which will be made available to the registered participants. Abstract should contain name and affiliation of the author(s). For co-authorships, please include names, affiliations and address of all authors and indicate by an asterisk the presenter of the paper. Please take note of the following instructions for preparing the abstracts:
• Abstracts must be in English.
• Title - Font style Times New Roman, font size 14, bold and aligned left, single space (if in more than one line)
• Author names – Font style Times New Roman, font size 12, capital, aligned left
• Double space between author name(s) and address(es)
• Text- font style Times New Roman, font size 12, justified, double spaced
• Suggest 5 keywords at the end of the abstract
• Do not indent paragraphs
• Do not include photographs, figures, tables or references
• Follow appropriate scientific protocols such as those defined in the International Codes of Botany and Zoological Nomenclature for life sciencesPOSTERS
Rectangular poster boards of the size 76cmx 51 cm will be provided. Posters should not exceed this size. Contents should be typed in a sufficiently large font size which can be read from a 2- meter distance. Symposium Secretariat will provide mounting facilities.Authors must indicate their preference for presentation as oral or poster. The final decision will rest with the scientific committee.
FULL MANUSCRIPT
To have your full papers considered for publication, please submit hard and soft copies of the manuscript to the Seminar registration desk. All papers will be forwarded to the technical committee for arranging their reviews. Authors of papers considered suitable for publication will be informed following the completion of the peer review process.Guidelines for full papers will be announced shortly. Authors are requested to visit the website of Borneo Marine Research Institute (http://www.ums.edu.my/ipmb) for updates.
LANGUAGE
The official language of the conference is English. No simultaneous translation facilities will be available.VENUE
The Seminar will be held in Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Exact location will be announced shortly.
