The course is designed to expose the students in the art of acting especially for theatre performances and steps of acting preparation for actors. Student will be exposed to theories on acting introduced by world known theatre activists like Stainslavski, Grotowski, Artaud and Boal. The course will be divided into two categories; lectures and practical/studio works.

The course is designed to help students to understand the techiques of using camera or ”camera mannerism” . Students are also introduced on ways to act infront of a camera, ways to deliver their lines and improvisation. Students will be able to experienced in conducting a fieldtrip to several studios available around Kota Kinabalu.

EA 01103 SCRIPT WRITING FOR DRAMAS

The course exposes students to ways of designing and writing a stage play. Students will undergo processes to prepare oneself before and during the process of writing. A brief discussion on drama and theatre will be included. This will help students to have a clear understanding about theatre and drama before writing a play. The course will also concentrate on ways to enrich a script with all the artistic elements based on six elements introduced by Aristotle. At the end of semester, students will be able to write script and produce a play.
