The Liberal Studies Cluster, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asmiaty Amat (the Conference Chair), and the Postgraduate Unit of PPIB, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saidatul Nornis Hj. Mahali, successfully hosted the International Conference on Humanities (PAPK) 2017 on 24-25 May 2017 at TH Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. The conference was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jualang @ Azlan Abdullah Gansau, the Dean of PPIB. The presence of Emeritus Prof. Ahmat Adam (the first Dean of PPIB), who is the keynote speaker as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali (the third Dean of PPIB), who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, made the conference even more significant. 

          The two-day conference carried the main theme of “Enhancing Human Values” with 10 sub-themes including religion, language and linguistics, culture and socio-culture, geography, philosophy, arts and literature, political science, history and civilisation, islamic studies, and law. The conference was attended by 100 participants, majority of whom were lecturers and postgraduates from Malaysia and Indonesia. Selected papers from participants will be published in MANU, PPIB’s journal.
