The recently released Malaysia University English Test (MUET) saw an overall excellent achievement by the students of Preparatory Centre of Science and Technology (PPST). The result received on 5th of January 2016 was anticipated by a total of 252 students who sat for the test.

A total of 251 students (99.6%) achieved Band 3 and above which shows an increase from 90.3% in the previous year. A total of 32 students out of 252 candidates achieved Band 5 (12.7%) which is so far the best achievement. Meanwhile, 176 students achieved Band 4 (69.8%) and 43 students achieved Band 3 (17.1%).

Improving English skills is pivotal to make the most of educational opportunities and help fulfilling students’ potential. PPST is dedicated in achieving that through English courses provided which include the preparation of MUET. MUET is significant as it tests the students’ language abilities and currently used as one of the minimum prerequisites for entry into the UMS degree programme.
