Access
Kota Kinabalu can be reached by air. The International Airport is located 33 km from Kota Kinabalu and is directly linked to main capitals in the region, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Kaoshiung, Tokyo, Seoul, Brunei and Manila. Bus and taxi services to and from airport provide easy access to the City Centre and in AASP. A taxi from the airport to AASP Conference venue costs RM 20.00 (higher rates apply after midnight) and takes about 10 minutes, or longer, depending on traffic conditions.


Transportation within Kota Kinabalu

Buses and taxis connect City Centre with other suburban areas in Kota Kinabalu. Tickets cost RM30.00 and there are regular schedules from 06.00 to 12.00


Climate
Sabah enjoys a sunny tropical climate where it’s summer all year round. Daily temperatures range from 74 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (23 to 33 degrees Centigrade), with cooler weather up in the mountains.

  1. A valid passport (and visa wherever applicable) is required.
  2. A Social or Tourist Visit Pass does not permit the holder to take up employment, business or professional work in Malaysia.
  3. The Business Visit Pass allows foreign visitors to enter the country for business negotiations or inspection of business premises. These passes however, cannot be used for employment purposes or for supervising the installation of new machinery or the construction of a factory.
  4. No fee is charged for a Business Visit Pass issued for a period of up to three months. A fee of RM5 is imposed for each month thereafter.
