The School of Business and Economics and the Malaysian Finance Association (MFA) are pleased to announce the Malaysian Finance Association 8th Annual Conference to be held on 8-9 May, 2006 in UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH , Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The conference theme is “Managing Finance for Global Business Growth.”

Objectives
The Objectives of the conference are:
1. Providing wider opportunities to academicians and researchers to interact openly.
2. Exposing and elaborating issues and challenges pertaining to the execution of global finance and banking systems in the new millennium.
3. Establishing networking among academicians and practitioners in the finance and banking areas. This network will be strengthened through various collaborations between UMS and other universities and private institutions to endeavour in academic activities.
Invitation
Professionals from the finance and banking institutions, representatives from the Central Bank of Malaysia, government bodies, research institutions, professional associations, academicians, post-graduate students and interested parties are invited to participate and submit papers to be considered for presentation. The MFA conference provides a platform for discussing issues, exchanging ideas and promoting better understanding on finance-related topics. The conference also invites a list of speakers from government policy makers, top corporate leaders and academicians.

Interested individuals are invited to submit papers relating to, but not limited to the following:
Paper Submission
The deadline for submission of abstract is 31 December 2005 and full paper submission is 15 January 2006. The conference will accept papers in both Malay and English. All papers will be subjected to blind review by MFA panel of reviewers. All papers accepted for the conference will be published in MFA conference proceedings. Selected papers will be published in the Capital Market Review Journal. Authors should send the completed paper as single MS Word document, either through email as attachment to the email address mfaconf2006@yahoo.com or on a 3.5 inch floppy diskette and 3 hard copies of the paper to be mailed to the address below. Please adhere to the guidelines as attached on the website. Papers will only be arranged for presentation and publication if at least one of the authors registers for the conference before or on pre-registration date.
