Dr. Hj. Kassim Mansur
Dean
School of Business and Economics

SEKAPUR SIRIH::

As the successor of a well build and established school in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), I am very fortunate to have with me in my team of more than 60 staff consist from a wide variety of academic and industry background. This team actually provide the foundation to the strength of the School of Business and Economics (SBE) in its challenge serving an approximate total of 1500 students both in undergraduate and postgraduate level.

From a humble beginning of only three programs in 1995, to date SBE has expanded its wings offering nine undergraduate program plus postgraduate program ranging from Master of Business Administration (MBA) to Master in Human Capital Management (MCHM), both by coursework. In addition, Master of Arts (MA) and PhD level programs by research are also available. Apart from that, the response to SBE outcampus program, Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) has been overwhelming from working adults.

Having all these item already in placed, indeed it is a great challenge to me, as the new Dean of SBE to continue this mission of excellence. I believed with these great challenges comes great responsibilities. However, I am optimistic with the current mixture or combination of expertise and facilities, these resources will further navigate SBE a step closer in achieving its vision towards being a center of excellence in the field of business and economics globally. Off course to achieve this SBE should be seen as a team and to be a player in this team each of us has to instill a culture of respect,coperative and supportive with one another.
