SHORT ABOUT ::

School of Business and Economics (SPE) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah was established in 1995 to fulfill the nation's vision to produce more managers and entrepreneurs with skills in various discipline, and therefore as catalyst for Malaysia towards moving into industrialized country.
     Many international factors in the early 90's focus on the capabilities of managers to compete in the international level. In order to be competent individuals need not only to have knowledge but also outstanding skills and personalities.
The programs in School of Business and Economics are designed to instill awareness amongst the students in various business fields. These individuals are definitely able to contribute positively to our nation's workforce.
     The above plans will be enhanced with research and publications, both to compliment as teaching tools that emphasized the following:

  • To offer various relevant business courses.
  • To provide a combination of knowledge in business and economics.
  • To emphasize on individuals' awareness towards social issues .

and the objectives of our school are;

  • Impart knowledge in both business and economics, and university's core subjects.
  • To provide professional skills needed for our local and global competence.
  • To produce proactive graduates with business and economics knowledge.
  • Contribute to building a developed country by producing graduates who are able do to the same.
  • Equip graduates with both theory and practice as a pre-entrance qualification to postgraduate study .
  • Impart knowledge in business and economics to undergraduates of other schools in the university to produce a well- rounded graduate.

SPE is committed to provide excellent teaching, research and consultation activities. Having dedicated staff from various fields and interests, SPE is moving towards a new dimension that importantly emphasizes teamwork, creativity, innovation and knowledge sharing.
