Prof. Dr Balakrishnan Parasuraman is a Professor of Management/HR/Industrial Relations at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) based in Kota Bahru, Kelantan. He obtained his Ph.D (Industrial Relations/HRM) from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Also, he has completed his MSc (Industrial Relations) from University of Stirling UK and B. Soc.Sc (Hons) (Economics & Development) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, did post-graduate studies (Diploma in Education) at the Institute of Teaching Training, Terengganu, Malaysia. He is a member of the international honour societies of the International employment and Labour Relations Associations (IIRA) based in Geneva, Switzerland, Malaysian Institute of HRM, and International Employment Relations Association, Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Bala has appeared on TV ASTRO Awani, Al-Hijrah and RTM based on his expertise on minimum wage, industrial relations, human capital, safety and human resource issues from global and local perspective. A member of international bodies such as the ILO, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia, National Minimum Wage Council, Human Capital Development of the Prime Minister Department.
Prof Dr. Balakrishnan Parasuraman was formerly a member of the Industrial Relations program at the Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
