Centre for Rural Education Development (CRED) was first established in May, 2006 and now renamed as the Unit for Rural Education Research (UREdR). Rural Education Research Unit has certified its inception in December 2, 2010 by the Board of Directors Meeting of UMS as a center of excellence for research in the School of Education and Social Development which is currently under the Faculty of Psychology and Education. The primary purpose of this unit is to carry out research in various fields of community development of rural education. At present, UREdR is managed by the head of unit, administrative assistant and assisted by four research fellows.
