Greetings and Salam Satu Kampus,

The Unit for Rural Education Research (UREdR) is under the Faculty of Psychology and Education, Universiti Malaysia Sabah.  The primary purpose of this unit is to carry out research in various fields of community development of rural education, including coastal and inland regions, and mountain ranges.

UREdR strives to be an innovative research centre which is internationally recognised in the field of rural education and  development.   Its mission is to engage and support rural education research which contributes to the advancement of society and the nation. 

In accordance with its vision and mission, the objectives of UREdR are to (i) carry out research in various fields of community development rural education (ii) provide, manage and disseminate the latest information on issues affecting communities and rural education for decision-making purposes, (iii) organise conferences, seminars, and workshops in the field ofrural education, (iv) provide consultancy services for interested individuals and organisations at the local, national or international levels and (v) establish networks between local and foreign universities and other agencies related to rural education and development.

Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to Management and Administration of Education, Sociology of Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum, Family Education, Sport and Health Education, Educational Technology and Sustainability Education.
