Franco Morrow Came 1st In UMS Fishing Competition

suasana semasa pertandingan berlangsungTHURSDAY, 28 NOVEMBERThe recent Tamu Gadang held in conjunction with Universiti Malaysia Sabah 15th Convocation Ceremony came alive with the Fishing Competition organised by the Student Council Representative (MPP) in collaboration with the Year 2 and 3 students of Sport Science Management, School of Education and Social Development (SPPS) at the School of Psychology and Social Works (SPKS) lake.

The competition which was the final recreational activity before the Convocation came to a close saw Franco Morrow capturing the top spot when he caught a snakehead fish weighing 900 gm, bringing home cash prize of RM700, hamper, fishing rod, medal and certificate.

1st Runner-up was Sibin Sinokit with his telapia weighing 500 gm whilst Murkam Hj. Hussien took the third sport with his 450 gm winner. They each received cash prize of RM500 and RM300, hamper, medal, fishing rod and certificate.

Prizes were also given to participants with the most caught catch of the day. The winner was Mohd Arip Mohd Irwansyah with a total of 63 catch bringing home cash prize of RM50, medal, hamper and certificate of participation.

The closing and prize giving ceremony was officiated by College CD Head, Dr. Mohamad Nizam Nazarudin representing the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni, Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Hj. Kasim Hj. Md. Mansur.

Earlier, College E Fellow, Hasnol Noordin presented 20 lucky draw prizes to the lucky winners.

The fishing competition had attracted almost 100 entries from the surrounding areas. – SS
