MONDAY, 27 JANUARY – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) had recently signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Negara Brunei Darussalam in efforts to strengthen ties in the academic field.
UMS was represented by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah, whilst UNISSA was represented by its Rector, Pg Anak Dr Haji Amiruddin Alam Shah Pg Anak Haji Ismail in a signing ceremony of the Letter of Intent which was held at UNISSA office. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by the Malaysian Ambassador to Negara Brunei Darussalam, Datuk Awang Sahak Awang Salleh.
Through this collaboration, both parties will jointly conduct research in the field of e-Commerce and Islamic Finance including doing research on Borneo.
Both parties also agreed to have staff and student mobility programmes, as well as exchange of language lecturers between these two universities.
The agreement which was signed in conjunction with UMS delegation’s visit to Negara Brunei Darussalam would further enhance bilateral cooperation between these two universities. - MA (FL)
