TUESDAY, 02 SEPTEMBER – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) became the first choice for applicants of Degree Programmes in Public Higher Learning Institutions (IPTA) when it recorded the highest number of enrollments for the 2014/2015 Academic Session.
According to a report in a national newspaper today, UMS was in first position with a total enrolment of 4,851 students recorded on the last day of registration, which was held simultaneously across the country yesterday.
Based on this total, 69.6 percent of UMS new students were female while 30.4 percent male.
The total included 1,992 students from Sabah, 2,295 (Peninsular Malaysia), 399 (Sarawak) and the rest were international students.
UMS also received admissions from the Disabled (OKU), in total six were physically handicapped and partially blind.
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) followed in second place with a total enrollment of 4,659 and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with 4,154 students. – ZMD (fl)
