Programme Info

The Master of Business (International Business) is a research-based programme designed to develop advanced knowledge and research capabilities in the field of international business. The programme enables students to explore theoretical and practical aspects of global business practices and conduct independent research under the supervision of experienced academics.

The programme is offered on both full-time and part-time basis.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • Professionals who critically analyze and offer innovative recommendations to complex international business issues based on their mastery of the existing theories, concepts, and principles (PLO1, 2, 10).

  • Professionals who employ their practical, digital, and numerical skills to offer feasible recommendations over emerging issues in international business (PLO 3,6,7).

  • Professionals who lead and work closely with peers through proper information sharing to achieve common goals (PLO4,5,8).

  • Professionals who engage in ongoing professional development activities to promote sound

    professional ethics in international business (PLO9, 11).

Career Prospect

  • A Bachelors’s degree in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, can be accepted subject to internal assessment approved by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
  • Additional Requirements (International Applicants)
    • Interview -International applicants are required to attend an interview session conducted by the faculty to assess suitability and communication ability.
    • Visa Requirement - Successful applicants who receive an offer letter are required to obtain a Student Pass. Applications for the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) and Student Pass must be processed prior to entry into Malaysia. For visa enquiries, please contact: ums_global@ums.edu.my
