    Smart Material Artificial Muscle Using Shape Memory Alloys. 
    A functioning artificial muscle is a favour for various robotics system as mimicking the nature muscle. The PhD research involves designing and developing a soft artificial muscle with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) as an actuator and its control system.

    Candidate: Must have an excellent mathematical background, preferable in hysteresis modelling. Able to conduct research and produce scientific writing. Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, and Mechatronic engineering background candidate are welcome.

    Scholarship: Self-funded for international students, Local students with CGPA 2.75 and above are eligible for applying for Student Assistance Scheme.
    Project funding: Research grant.

  • Master Opportunity
    Juvenile Scylla Serrata Growth Automation System.
    The cannibalism nature of Scylla Serrata is the major setback for the farming of this species and a kind. Isolation growth environment improves mortality on the farm, especially at the juvenile stage. However, the Isolation growth system required high workforce input which compromises the profit. Automation can be a solution to this problem.

    Candidate: Must have good patience and responsibility in handling livestock. Able to produce scientific writing. Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, and Mechatronic engineering background candidate are welcome.

    Scholarship: Self-funded for international students, Local students with CGPA 2.75 and above are eligible for applying for Student Assistance Scheme.
    Project funding: Industrial Funded.
