Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The Programme Educational Objectives of Doctorate Degree are:

PEO1: Professionalism
Provide exposure to graduates with the commitment to social professional and ethical responsibilities in engineering practice, and understanding of the social, economic, cultural, legal, and environment impact of engineering solutions in the national and global contexts to promote sustainable development.

PEO2: Continuous Professional Development
Prepare graduates to apply their philosophy knowledge and skills, and principles of lifelong learning in academic and career development.

The graduates of the Doctoral Degree in Faculty of Engineering should be able to:
PLO 1 Demonstrate an in-depth scholarship of their area of research interest.
PLO 2 Contribute to novelty research to broaden the boundary of knowledge through thesis or dissertation.
PLO 3 Make critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new ideas.
PLO 4 Plan and perform independent research undertakings professionally, ethically and responsibly and to lead/supervise research projects.
PLO 5 Report research findings to peers at levels suitable for international publications.
PLO 6 Recognize the needs for continuing professional development.
PLO 7 Demonstrate sustainability into the knowledge and application of engineering

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements for Doctoral Degree:
A candidate who intends to enrol in the Degree of Doctoral Philosophy programme shall fulfil the following requirements:-  

  • Attain a Master’s degree from any higher education institution recognised by the Senate; 
  • Possess other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree and accepted by the Senate; 
  • Is currently pursuing for a Master’s Degree at the University and has shown excellent performance in the first two (2) semesters and the conversion is approved by the Senate; or
  • Other requirements stipulated by the Faculty/Centre/Institute and accepted by the Senate.
