Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO1: Professionalism
Provide exposure to graduates with the commitment to social professional and ethical responsibilities in engineering practice, and understanding of the social, economic, cultural, legal, and environment impact of engineering solutions in the national and global contexts to promote
sustainable development.

PEO2: Continuous Professional Development
Prepare graduates to apply their philosophy knowledge and skills, and principles of lifelong learning in academic and career development.

The graduates of the Master Degree in Faculty of Engineering should be able to:
PLO 1 Demonstrate continuing and advanced knowledge and have capabilities to further develop.
PLO 2 Analyse and evaluate problems in discipline critically particularly in situations with limited information and to provide solutions through the application of appropriate/necessary tools and techniques.
PLO 3 Appraise available information and research evidence and apply it in the engineering context.
PLO 4 Plan and perform research undertakings professionally, ethically and responsibly.
PLO 5 Report research findings in both oral and writing.
PLO 6 Recognize the needs for continuing professional development.
PLO 7 Demonstrate sustainability into the knowledge and application of engineering.

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirement for Master’s Degree :
Candidate who wishes to enrol in a Master’s degree postgraduate programme shall fulfil the following requirements:-  

  • Attain a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any higher education institution recognised by the Senate and with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; or 
  • Attain a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  • Attain a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent not meeting CGPA 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of five (5) years working experience in relevant field; or
  • Passes APEL (subject to the programme approval from MQA); or
  • Other requirements stipulated by the Faculty/Centre/Institute accepted by the Senate.
