Wednesday, October 5 - Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Auxiliary Police Contingent became the runner-up in the ceremonial parade marching competition for the Government Departments - Official Uniformed category in conjunction of Yang Di-Pertuan Negeri Sabah Official 63rd Birthday that was held at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu, last Saturday.UMS Auxiliary Police contingent with the strength of 30 members led by UMS Security Officer, Insp / PB Rakam Singh a/l Karam Singh compete alongside 82 other contingents involving 3,000 participants at the ceremonial parade.The UMS contingent took home a cash prize of RM1,000, a trophy and a certificate upon the success, delivered by the Minister of Youth and Sports Ministry, Datuk Seri Panglima Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.This achievement equaled the success of last year, when UMS contingent won second place in the IPTA / IPTS category.A total of seven categories parade was held, and the winners of each category is the Department of Lands and Surveys Enforcement (Government Departments - Official Uniformed Category), Public Works Department (Government Departments - Non Official Uniformed Category), the Red Crescent Society Kota Kinabalu (Non-Government Organization Category), the Yayasan Sabah group (Private / Commercial Category), College of Allied Health Sciences (IPTA / IPTS Category), SMK Agama Kota Kinabalu (Secondary School Category), and SK St Francis Convent (Primary School Category).
