Welcome to Centre for e-Learning UMS
The purpose of the Centre of e-Learning (PEP) has always been to support and enhance teaching and learning practices in UMS as a whole. Our mandate is to plan, manage, coordinate, monitor, and assist the faculty and institute to the effective use of technologies by providing the most seek and required skills in the 21st century.
Our mission is to achieve academic excellence and international recognition by promoting greater innovation and productivity through cultivating a meaningful and conducive e-Learning environment. We strive to provide phone support service, small group training, and one-on-one consultation to build appealing online courses, develop engaging online teaching methods, and create appropriate media and course materials. We believe it is our core value to encourage student engagement and success in compliance with national and international e-learning standards.
Online teaching is much more than simply posting videos and uploading PowerPoint slides into the Learning Management System (LMS). An ideal online course should have regular and substantive engagement between instructor and students and, in many cases, interaction among the students. Online courses create opportunities to access and share information easily and readily to create engaging and effective online courses that enable the highest levels of student success.
We also develop and provide Open Educational Resources (OER) and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) to improve cost-effectiveness, branding, and visibility of UMS expertise, as well as lifelong learning acculturation.
As we navigate these current pandemic challenges and support our colleagues, we will all come out stronger together.
