UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH (UMS) WON 4 AWARDS AT THE 11TH MALAYSIAN ROAD CONFERENCE 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 OCTOBER - UMS won 4 awards at the 11th Malaysian Road Conference Invention And Innovation Exhibition 2022 (MRC-IIE 2022) which was held at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

UMS won 2 Gold Awards, 1 Silver Award and 1 Bronze Award for the 4 innovation products exhibited. The research team leaders, Prof. Ir. Dr. Abdul Karim Bin Mirasa and Ts. Dr. Lillian Gungat were present in the exhibition. They won the judges attention to recycled plastic compressed paver blocks (ReCoP) and interlocking compressed Earth Brick (ICEB) system.

The purpose of the exhibition was to explore many possible key areas of sustainable green roads and the opportunity to gain new knowledge and share experiences with road administration, construction industry, academicians, and research institutions.

The 11th MRC-IIE 2022 was jointly organised by the Ministry of Works, Malaysia, Public Works Department, Malaysia, Malaysian Highway Authority and the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) in collaboration with Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research. It was supported by the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (Malaysian Branch), Korea Road Association, World Road Association and Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia.
