DISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL INNOVATION AND COMMERCIALIZATION BETWEEN UMS AND ENTREPRENEURS

KOTA KINABALU, 13 OCTOBER - Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) received a courtesy visit from the Association of Ng Teng Chin Family Malaysia delegation lead by Dr. Richard Ng. The delegation consisted of 16 entrepreneurs from various industries. The arrival of the delegation was welcomed by the Director of the Innovation and Commercialization Management Centre (ICMC), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jidon @ Adrian Janaun.

Among the purposes of this courtesy visit was to hold discussions and further strengthen the relationship between UMS and the Association of Ng Teng Chin Family Malaysia as well as sharing related efforts to make the collaboration between the two parties successful. Through out the meeting, several potential innovation and commercialisation opportunities were discussed.

Besides visiting The Chancellery building, the delegation also visited the Faculty of Engineering and Borneo Marine Research Institute, UMS.

Also present in the meeting were the Director of Investment, Endowment and Waqf Centre, Dr. Borhan bin Abdullah, UMS Investment Sdn. Bhd. (UiNVEST) represented by Mrs. Nerwani Shereen Halik and Ms. Amynadiah Amiruddin and the UMS Student Career and Entrepreneurship Development Centre officer, Mr. Ag. Nasip Yonos.

The director of PPIP also expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the Association of Ng Teng Chin Family Malaysia to visit UMS. Hopefully more UMS innovations can be widely commercialized in various industries in the future.
