UMS LAUNCHED PREMIUM CHICKENS FED ON TONGKAT ALI

KOTA KINABALU, 14 AUGUST - The launch event of the Tongkat Ali supplemented chickens, A-yamli was held at Pick N Pay, Plaza 333, Penampang today. The event began with a welcoming speech from the Director of Innovation and Commercialization Management Center (ICMC), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jidon @ Adrian Janaun.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Prof. Ir. Dr. Rosalam Hj. Sarbatly officiated at the historic event by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on stage, signifying the launch of A-yamli, one of the products developed by UMS. He said, the A-yamli project is a project that has been innovated at UMS, which the chickens are fed with Tongkat Ali extract so that the quality of the meat produced is leaner and better in terms of quality.

“All these researches and pre-commercialization have been done in Sabah and also in Brunei Darussalam. The result of this Pre-Commercialization which eventually led to a collaboration with Petrogaya Sdn. Bhd. and then the launch of A-yamli.”

Prof. Ir. Dr. Rosalam Hj. Sarbatly welcomes industries to collaborate with UMS. “I am confident that these kind of collaborations will lead to a variety of new potentials in economic recovery and sustainable growth.” he explained.

Also present in the event were A-yamli’s researcher, Mr. Awang Ahmad bin Mohd Yunus and Dean of Faculty of Tropical Forestry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Normah Awang Besar @ Raffie from UMS. At the same event, the winner for “Guess & Win” contest organized by Petrogaya Sdn. Bhd. and Pick N Pay was invited to receive the gift.

Meanwhile, the Director of Petrogaya Sdn. Bhd, Mr. Haji Mazali Bin Rajang announced that A-yamli chickens are available at all Pick n Pay outlets at reasonable prices. At the end of the event, he presented certificates of appreciation to Pick N Pay and other parties involved in making the event a success.
