
Programme supervisor, Dr. Siew Nyet Moi @ Sopiah Abdullah said, the programme was a model and system that could help students interested in science and mathematics that would be the basis in mastering Science and Technology Engineering field.
“The programme was participated by 19 students of the Master of Science Education (MES Group 1) and 62 Form 4 students of Pure Science stream at SMK Badin,” she said in a media statement.
She said, the MES 1 Master students would become steering committee and act as facilitator during the programme.
He said that in line with the course of Science, Technology and Society, the programme was designed for Postgraduate students to reach out to the community in addition to see, explore and evaluate for themselves the concept and application of science among students in rural schools.
“This programme aims to encourage the proliferation of students' creativity and problem solving skills. The impact would be that students not only build their confidence, but also encouragement for them to choose STEM for their career and the field of study that they like,” added Dr. Siew.
Themed ‘Creating Young Inventors’, the closing ceremony was officiated by the Head of Science Unit, Tuaran District Education Office, Winnie Ulut. – SS (fl)
