KIPWA Receives Tremendous Response From New Members

KIPWATHURSDAY, 10 OCTOBERA total of 55 new members of the Student Peer Club (PR-Siswa) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) had joined the Induction Course and Handing over of Appointment Letter to the new members (KIPWA) 2013/2014 Academic Session recently.

The course which was held at the Seminar Room, Anjung Siswa, Student Affairs and Alumni Department UMS among others was aimed at exposing to new members their philosophy, self concept, individual counselling techniques and practical sessions besides instilling onto PR-Siswa UMS to always be vigilant with the presence of clients consisting of their friends in the university.

The course also trained PR-Siswa to be more aware and tactful in managing a counselling situation through a simulation of their listening skill, assessing real-life situations and ways on how to treat the problem at hand, and to identify their ability in dealing with their peers.

The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni, Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Hj. Kasim Hj. Md. Mansur. In his speech, Datuk Kasim said that each individual was gifted with talents.

“I urge all PRS UMS to show their own talents with full commitment endlessly,” he said.

The course also included new members from Labuan International Campus, UMS. – FL
