‘Ngabas Borneo’ Strengthens Educational Institution With Community

Ngabas Borneo TenomTUESDAY, 10 MARCH – After a five-day camp in the village of Chinta Mata Tenom, 35 Rakan Muda Secretariat Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Melaka Multimedia Universiti (MMU) ended their ‘Ngabas Borneo 2015’ programme successfully.

For MMU, the organisation of the programme this year was the third time being one of the main activities of the Rakan Muda Secretariat.

This was stated by the Senior Director of MMU Student Affairs, Zamzuri Abdul Majid when officiating the programme.

“I believe this is the appropriate time and place for students to gain experience, knowledge and soft skills and the importance of teamwork,” he said.

He also thanked UMS for rendering its cooperation and commitment in ensuring the smooth running of the programme.

Thorughout the programme, participants had the opportunity to conduct motivational programmes and teaching workshops with students at the village besides the adoption of host families.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Federal Youth and Sports Department (JBS) Sabah and was given a briefing on Rakan Muda development programmes and current youths involvement.

The closing ceremony was officiated by the Tenom District Education Officer, Azlan Dimon. – ZMD (fl)
