TUESDAY, 23 JUNE – A total of 37 new lecturers of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) from various faculties attended the Teaching and Learning Course organised by the Human Resource Department, Registrar Department, UMS, recently. The two-week course was aimed to strengthen and prepare lecturers of their teaching and ensuring the level of learning for UMS student are always at the maximum level.

In the research session, Professor Dr. Felix Tongkul, who is the Director of the Centre for Research and Innovation stressed on the importance of lecturers in the delivery of services to the community. According to him, a lecturer is not only responsible for delivering lessons to students, but also has a social obligation towards the development of society as a whole. In connection with that, all lecturers need to be proactive and constantly doing research in their respective fields. – SS (fl)
