UMS-Harbin No. 10 High school Cooperation Enhances Internationalisation Programme

WEDNESDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to strengthen its internationalisation efforts when it initiated an educational collaboration with Harbin No. 10 High School, China.

The collaboration was achieved through a working visit to the school led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah, yesterday.

Datuk Harun reported that the collaboration was a remarkable achievement, particularly in attracting more international students to UMS.

“Through this agreement, the high school will send their students to study in various disciplines in UMS.

“It is seen to have a major impact in the international programme as emphasised in the Malaysian Higher Education Development Plan (Higher Education) particularly in increasing the intake from students abroad,” he added.

The collaboration was also witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching and Chairman of the Board of Directors of UMS, Tun Zaki Tun Azmi.

Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Professor Dr. D. Kamarudin D Mudin and the Acting Director of the Centre for International Affairs UMS, Molly Donna Awang Sham. – (fl)
