SPOR Organises Palm Tree Ganoderma Boninense Workshop

THURSDAY, 01 OCTOBER – The Sustainable Palm Oil Research Unit (SPOR), Faculty of Science and Natural Resources (FSSA) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently organised a workshop on Ganoderma Boninense.

According to a statement issued by SPOR UMS, the workshop aimed to share its expertise with rural communities particularly in the area of oil palm production.

They further stated that all participants of the workshop were introduced to the GanoKit product, a tool created by SPOR to detect the presence of fungi on palm trees.

The one-day workshop held at the Seminar Room of FSSA was also attended by several participants from Peninsular Malaysia and Hong Kong.

A lecture by the Head of SPOR, Associate Professor Dr. Chong Khim Phin was also held during the workshop. – ZMD (fl)
