MONDAY, 5 OCTOBER – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah called on UMS community in particular and society in general to intensify knowledge-seeking activities according to their respective roles.

He said, all knowledge-based efforts and results could be a contribution to their own well-being, society and nature as a whole.

“To be sensitive and aware on the importance of the history of knowledge is a continuation of current developments and advances in knowledge.

“Therefore, this treasure of knowledge should be stored, recorded and recognised as a reference in conducting studies and research that could give a big impact on the progress of the country and benefit the whole community,” he said.

He was speaking at the closing of the UMS Library Knowledge Culture Programme 2015 at 1 MegaLab, UMS Library, recently.

According to him, cultural programmes such as this should be continued in future to diversify the activities that were related to knowledge.

Also launched at the event were membership for outsiders, award for the most books borrowed and the launching of the book ‘Dari Cinta Kepada Cinta’ (From Love to Love), a creative work by a lecturer of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage (FKSW), Associate Professor Dr. Ramzah Dambul. - (fl)
