Seven FKJ Students Receive Repsol Scholarship 2015

TUESDAY, 15 MARCH – Seven Faculty of Engineering (FKJ) Universiti Malaysia Sabah students, received the Repsol 2015 scholarship organised by Talisman Malaysia (Ltd).

The award was presented by Asset Manager of Talisman Malaysia (Ltd) Sabah, Duncan Smart at a hotel in Kota Kinabalu, recently.

According to Duncan, the scholarship was one of the educational and developmental programmes on human capital which was central to Repsol’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

“Our company will continue its efforts to increase students’ interest in learning that are related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),” he said.

He explained that Repsol  scholarship would provide financial assistance of between RM30,000 and RM35,000 for each course including tuition fees, living allowance and purchase of computer.

“The programme also provide opportunities for industry training for these students under Repsol scholarship,” Duncan added.

UMS is one of four universities involved in the Repsol scholarship programme, the other three are Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). – (fl)
