UMS Invites Industry Players to Take Advantage of PPRN

FRIDAY, 12 AUGUST – UMS being a public university has the equipment that can be used to carry out research in the Public-Private Research Network (PPRN), a programme implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOE).

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dr. Shahril Yusof said, entrepreneurs in Sabah especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) could use the facilities at UMS to assist them in managing their respective business.

At the same time, he said UMS also provided their expertise to collaborate with industry players in solving problems faced by local entrepreneurs.

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to take advantage of the expertise available in the public universities, including UMS to solve the shortage of industrial businessmen.

“The government is also opening a special fund for universities and industries to solve the problems related to production,” he said while speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of UMS, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah at the opening of the Seminar and Workshop on PPRN Roadshow Sabah Series held at Dewan Resital, yesterday.

The ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Industrial Development, Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan Shu Kiah who was represented by his assistant Datuk Bolkiah Ismail. – (fl)
