PSA Organises Bright Young Successors Programme at SMK Gadong, Beaufort

THURSDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER – The Postgraduate Student Association (PSA), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently organised a Bright Young Successors Programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gadong, Beaufort.

According to a statement issued by PSA, nine postgraduate students comprising seven PSA members and two postgraduate students took part in the programme, accompanied by three officers from the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (PPPS), UMS.

The statement further added, a total of 160 SMK Gadong students participated in the programme.

The Bright Young Successors programme is a community activity, aimed at bridging the gap between university and community.

The motivational programme targeted the secondary school students, giving UMS students an opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences as a public higher learning institution students with the school students, besides exposing them on the importance of education.

The two-day programme was packed with various motivational activities such as sharing of experience as a university student, the meaning of independence, knowledge-sharing seminar presented by the Deputy Dean (Student Welfare) PPPS, Dr. Mohd. Rahimie Abd. Karim, sports, talent performance and recreational activities in groups.

The highlight of the programme was the official closing ceremony of the event by the representative of SMK Gadong, Muhamud Haji Duriman. – (fl)
