Good VCs Key To UMS Achievement

Hamid-Noh 1SATURDAY, 23 NOVEMBERUniversiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to show a steady improvement from time to time because of its leaders who are capable and far-sighted.

This was echoed by the former Chairman of UMS Board of Directors, Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Hamid Egoh when met by reporters after receiving the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Management) at UMS 15th Convocation Ceremony which starts today.

Referring to all past and present Vice-Chancellors who were and still is at the helm of this EcoCampus University, he said that their efforts and commitment in managing the university well had enabled it to boast of the many successes achieved.

“I believe that all these achievements are the results of the commitments of the Vice-Chancellors who were good and who had high leadership quality,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Vice-Chancellor of UMS, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd. Noh Dalimin said that UMS had improved in so many aspects.

“Before, this university were overshadowed in the medical field. Now, UMS has produced medical doctors every year and they even have their own school building. Besides that, I can see that postgraduates students are on the increase. Congratulations!,” he said when met after receiving his Emeritus Professor award during the Convocation Ceremony.

A total of 4,553 graduates received their scrolls at the Convocation Ceremony which will end on Monday. – SS
