Labuan Charity RunFRIDAY, 24 APRIL – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Labuan International Campus (KAL) is targeting 500 participants for the Labuan Charity Run (LCR) 2015 on 10 May 2015.

Programme Director, Rachel Lam Kit Yee said the run was held to strengthen the relationship between participants and UMSKAL as the sole university in the Federal Territory of Labuan.

“This programme is in line with the university’s management to enculture EcoCampus besides strengthening relationship between UMSKAL and the local community,” she said when met by UMS media.

According to her, the run was one of the government’s efforts to help protect the environment by making sure that no rubbish were thrown indiscriminately on the beach or the sea which are the route of the run.

She added that the registration for the run can be made online through http://goo.gl/xKINCY or by calling the secretariat at 016-5958809 and a fee of RM30 for students and RM50 for non-students will be imposed.

“Cash prizes of RM500, RM300 and RM200 await the winners of the first, second and third placings, whilst the 10 fastest runners in each category will receive a Finisher medal each,” she said.

The prize-giving ceremony is expected to be presented by UMSKAL Director, Associate Professor Dr. Murnizam Hj. Halik. – ZMD (fl)
