WEDNESDAY, 27 AUGUST – Former Dean of the School of Psychology and Social Work, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murnizam Datuk Haji Halik has been appointed as the new Director of the Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) for two years with effect from 2014.He succeeds Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali, who was appointed as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) UMS.
Murnizam, 42, was the Head of the Psychology and Social Health Research Unit UMS in 2008-2010 before becoming the Dean of the School of Psychology and Social Work UMS in 2010-May 2014.
Touching on his hope, Dr. Murnizam wants all officers, lecturers and support staff to work as a team in realising the vision and mission of UMS towards excellence in education and curriculum as well as personality.
He said, in line with the vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd. Harun Abdullah, his open door policy to all staff and students of UMSKAL for discussions to improve the quality of the university’s management, administrative, academic and students’ infrastructure. – SS (fl)
