TUESDAY, 03 SEPTEMBER – A meeting between the Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi and supporting staff of UMS was held this morning at the Executive Board Meeting Room (BMLE), Chancellery Building, UMS.

Known for being firm and assertive, the former Chief Justice of Malaysia did not mince his words during the one hour meeting and challenged all support staff to improve themselves.

“We should find ways and means to improve UMS, to improve our standards. We must push ourselves to be number one” he stressed.

“Find improvements everyday, to improve our work process, a process that can save time,” he added.

The meeting this morning was with all support staff from the Chancellery, Registrar and Bursar Offices. Tun Zaki will be making his rounds to meet all support staff of all Departments, Schools, Centres, Institutes and Units (JSPIU) of UMS this two days. A similar exercise was done with the Management level earlier. He will also be speaking to the new intake of students who have just registered for the 2013/2014 Session, this afternoon.

Also present at the meeting was the Vice-Chancellor of UMS, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah; UMS Registrar, Datuk Abdullah Hj Mohd Said and Senior Deputy Registrar, Luqman Ridha Anwar.
