The research unit was developed by a group of long-standing academics that has been working on the issue of tourism in this region since the establishment of UMS

Water Research Unit (WRU) was established in 21 September 2010 under the School of Science and Technology (currently known as Faculty of Science and Natural Resources). The main role of WRU is to take part in the water related incidents to identify factors contribute to the problem and to find remedies through systematic analysis. At present, WRU has more than 15 fellow researchers from various disciplines that capable of tackling and finding solutions to curb water-related problems.

Besides research and development, WRU also actively involves in organizing water-related seminars and workshops, provides analytical services such as in situ measurement, laboratory testing and consultation for environment impact assessment (eia) and water-quality monitoring that meets the specifications in Environmental Quality Act 1974, National Water Quality Standards and National Drinking Water Standards.

Admission For Master

  1. Master Programme (By Research)
  2. Master Programme (By Coursework)
  3. Master Programme (By Mixed Mode)
  4. Master of Philosophy Programme

 Applicants should possess the following qualification:

 

Master Programme (By Research)

-          A Bachelors’s degree in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

-          A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA 2.75, can be accepted subject to internal assessment approved by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

-          A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

 

 

DURATION MASTER

Full-time : 2 – 6 semesters

Part-time : 4 – 8 semesters

 

 -          A Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

-          A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field; or

-          Applicants are subject to meet additional requirement specified by Faculties/Centre/Institutes.

 

DURATION MASTER

Full-time : 2 – 6 semesters

Part-time : 4 – 8 semesters

 -          A Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

-          A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to internal assessment approved by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah; or

-          A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

 

DURATION MASTER

Full-time : 2 – 6 semesters

Part-time : 4 – 8 semesters

 -          A Bachelor’s degree with Honours with CGPA of 3.00 and above from Universiti Malaysia Sabah or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah;

-          Master of Philosophy candidates may be admitted into a Doctor of Philosophy programme depending on a satisfactory study progress in the first year.

 

DURATION MASTER

Full-time : 2 – 6 semesters

Part-time : 4 – 8 semesters
